Living on a Self-Sufficient Sailboat for 10 Years + FULL TOUR
Brian and Karin Trautman have been living on a sailboat for 10 years, and their boat is set up so they can be off the grid in remote places for months at a time with solar and wind power providing electricity, a water maker that turns salt water into fresh water, multiple freezers and loads of storage space for food, and even a small washing machine on board!
They’ve sailed SV Delos – a 53′ sloop rig ketch – 83,000 nautical miles which is the equivalent of circling the earth at the equator more than 3 times. Their latest adventures include sailing as a family with their 6-month baby, Sierra, and outfitting the boat with a heater so they can explore the Arctic this summer after several years in the Tropics.

A Fun Vacation At The Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood Florida
We spent five days at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood, Florida, and had a whole lot of fun in the water! In this video I give you a tour of the Margaritaville resort and explain how I managed to fly two people from Los Angeles to Ft Lauderdale, in first class, for only $11 There's also a fun waterslide montage showing a bunch of kids having fun splashing in to the pool after going down the water slide. Most of the video was shot with a GoPro Hero 6 mounted on a Feiyu gimbal for stabilization. At twilight, those who seek more upbeat entertainment can discover a free concert and a beehive of family activity with the ocean as a backdrop. The two-and-a-half-mile boardwalk is a kaleidoscope of entertainment for your senses. There is a bike path open to skateboarders & in-line skaters, countless restaurants and bars, and a relaxed festive atmosphere. Want a unique experience? Why not try a run on the "Flowrider" stationary wave located in the Margaritaville Hotel in the center of the boardwalk? Doesn't sound like you? The less courageous can just sit back watch others wipeout. It's always good for a chuckle, if not an occasional mocking. There is ample parking and multiple garages (Garfield Street is the best IMO). There is also a shuttle traversing the boardwalk and the immediate area running approximately every 20 minutes for $1.00. The boardwalk is well-lit and safe in the evenings. In town for a few a few days? My personal recommendation is to stay at the Margaritaville or Marriott Hotels & stay right in the action. Just here for the day? Arrive in the morning on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, in order to enjoy the tranquility the beach offers, then grab dinner at one of the many restaurants and wrap-up your day with a concert before you leave.
